Trimbull Farm is a family-owned farm in North Alabama dedicated to raising registered Dexter cattle through regenerative grazing while producing wholesome food with care and stewardship.
Our farming roots go back generations. Herrell grew up on a nearly 200-acre farm raising crops, cattle, pigs, and chickens. Angie grew up with chickens, gardening, preserving food, hunting, fishing, and caring for animals. After marrying in 1989, we began raising cattle on leased land in 1990 before purchasing our home farm in 1994.
In 2021, we discovered Dexter cattle and quickly fell in love with their intelligence, efficiency, gentle nature, and personality. Angie’s years of studying pedigrees and genetics while raising AKC Champion Bulldogs now help guide our breeding program. We focus on health, temperament, structural soundness, and producing cattle that improve with each generation.
Our approach to farming changed when we embraced rotational grazing and soil health. To us, regenerative agriculture means leaving the land better than we found it. By rotating our cattle through carefully managed paddocks, protecting the soil, encouraging plant diversity, and avoiding overgrazing, we’re working to build healthier pastures for years to come.
Faith is at the center of everything we do. Our days often begin with Bible reading and prayer and end watching the cows graze as the sun sets over the farm.
We’re also blessed with seven grandchildren who are growing up alongside this journey. They help gather eggs, feed rabbits, work in the garden, love on calves, and learn where their food comes from. We hope the values of hard work, stewardship, and caring for God’s creation will be passed on to them just as they were passed on to us.
Along with Dexter cattle, we raise laying hens, TAMUK meat rabbits, maintain a year-round garden, and preserve much of the food we grow. We enjoy sharing what we’ve learned about cattle, grazing, gardening, food preservation, and homesteading with others.
Our goal is simple: to care well for the land and animals God has entrusted to us, provide wholesome food, serve our community, and leave something meaningful for the generations that follow
